Introduction

When we first started caravanning, we spent a lot of money on accessories we did not need and not enough on the ones that would have made a real difference. This list is the result of three years of trial and error — the ten things under £50 that we would buy again without hesitation.

The List

1. A good spirit level — essential for levelling. A small magnetic one that attaches to the caravan is more convenient than a phone app.

2. A water hose connector set — the standard fittings on Club sites are not always compatible with every caravan. A set of adapters saves a lot of frustration.

3. A pitch light — a solar-powered LED light for outside the van in the evening. Transforms the pitch atmosphere.

4. A doormat — keeps mud and grass out of the caravan. Worth every penny.

5. A cable tidy — keeps your EHU cable organised and off the ground.

6. A collapsible washing-up bowl — saves space in the kitchen cupboard.

7. A magnetic knife strip — keeps knives accessible without taking up drawer space.

8. A portable Bluetooth speaker — for evenings on the pitch.

9. A set of stackable outdoor cups — unbreakable and compact.

10. A caravan step mat — protects your caravan step and keeps it clean.
