GoApe Sundown Adventures, Sherwood Pines: Our Review
We have done GoApe in the daytime more times than we can count. Sherwood Pines is one of our favourite places in the world — it is where we brought Bodhi for her 4th birthday, and it has been an annual family tradition ever since. But Sundown Adventures? That is something else entirely.
Grant and I went as a date night, and honestly, it was one of the best evenings we have had in a long time. If you have only ever done GoApe in daylight, you need to try this.
What is GoApe Sundown Adventures?
GoApe Sundown Adventures takes the standard Treetop Adventure experience and runs it after dark, on selected autumn evenings. The forest is illuminated with colourful light displays, the trees glow around you, and the whole atmosphere shifts into something that feels genuinely magical — and a little bit wild. You are navigating the same high ropes and zip lines, but in the dark, with the sounds of the forest coming alive around you and the lights turning the canopy into something from a film.
It runs on selected nights from Saturday 19th October to Sunday 10th November, which makes it a perfect autumn evening out. The nights are drawing in, the air is crisp, and being up in the treetops after dark feels like a proper adventure.
The Experience
We did the Treetop Adventure Plus, which starts at £28 and requires participants to be at least 6 years old and 1.2m tall. The standard Treetop Adventure starts at £23 and requires a minimum height of 1m. Allow at least two hours for your visit — this includes the harnessing and safety brief beforehand and the de-harnessing and celebration afterwards. Do not underestimate the safety brief; it is thorough and worth paying attention to.
The light displays throughout the course are genuinely beautiful. There is something about being suspended between trees, looking out at a glowing forest, that makes you feel very small and very alive at the same time. The zip lines feel faster in the dark — or maybe that is just the adrenaline. Either way, we were buzzing by the end.

Is it Suitable for Families?
GoApe Sundown Adventures is designed for families, groups of friends, and adults looking for something different. The minimum age for Treetop Adventure Plus is 6, so it is not suitable for very young children — but for older children and adults, it is a brilliant shared experience. We went as a couple, but we are already planning to bring Bodhi next year when the evenings draw in again.
For families with younger children who cannot yet do the high ropes, Sherwood Pines itself is an excellent day out — the bike trails, the play areas, and the walking routes are all brilliant, and the café is a great base. See our full Sherwood Pines guide for everything the forest has to offer.
Our Verdict
GoApe Sundown Adventures is a genuinely brilliant evening out. The combination of physical adventure, beautiful lighting, and the atmosphere of the forest after dark makes it feel special in a way that the daytime experience, as good as it is, simply cannot replicate. Book ahead — these evenings sell out.
