Aldi’s Specialbuys range for camping and caravanning appears twice a year — typically in spring and late summer — and the quality-to-price ratio is genuinely remarkable. We have bought items from Aldi that have outlasted more expensive alternatives from specialist retailers.

The key is to move quickly. Specialbuys sell out fast and are not restocked. If you see something you want, buy it.

Folding camping chairs — Aldi’s version is comfortable, lightweight, and about a third of the price of branded alternatives.

Camping table — the folding aluminium table is sturdy, compact, and excellent value.

Sleeping bags — good quality for the price, especially for children who will grow out of them quickly.

Outdoor rugs — essential for the pitch. Aldi’s versions are durable and wash well.

Portable fan — for hot summer nights in the van.

LED lanterns — good quality, long battery life, and very affordable.
